  • EQ Leaders Cohort

The EQ training program, inspired by Richard Boyatzis, helps school leaders build essential emotional intelligence skills for handling tough situations, connecting with others, and leading effectively. It focuses on self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. Over one year, participants in leadership roles will take a class centered on emotional intelligence, which includes a monthly book study, school tours, and a three-day summer event with guest speakers.

  • Discovery Walks

Discovery Walks look at teaching and learning in classrooms. A special team of skilled educators and the school principal watches the culture, environment, and student involvement in each classroom. They record their observations using electronic devices. SLC staff and the school principal analyze this data for trends and patterns. The gathered information forms the basis for a year-long program to improve instruction at the school.

  • Strategic Planning

School improvement starts with a clear vision, specific goals, and a plan. Since school communities are complex and always changing, having an expert to guide the process and highlight key areas is helpful. Throughout the year, SLC will support you and your team through 9 to 10 meetings. SLC has experts ready to assist schools at any stage of their improvement efforts.

  • Data Analysis

Assessments are important for everyone and help with learning, growth, and tracking progress. Looking at data is as crucial as the data itself. This service can be set up with multiple schools and leaders for a group experience or customized to meet your needs in 3 to 4 sessions. Let SLC's experts help with data analysis and support you and your colleagues in improving student achievement at your school.

  • Fellow Membership

Since 1997, over 650 principals and assistant leaders from various schools in Southern Louisiana have finished a two-year leadership training program. The Fellows Program aims to develop outstanding school leaders through hands-on professional development, training, and mentoring. This opportunity is for former fellows to connect and collaborate with leaders statewide.

  • Customized Support

SLC's experts know about leadership, curriculum, and inclusive practices. Our team can help you create a tailored support plan. We can also assist organizations outside of education with strategic planning and leadership development. Give us a call and let's design a project that works for you and your needs.
